Made this from the left over Idly batter... Below is just a refresher..
Ingredients:
- White lentils- 3 Cups
- Idly Rawa (Semolina)- 6 Cups (If done in Grinder 6 cups. If done in mixer 1/5 cups)
- Salt
- Mustard seeds- 1 Tsp
- Oil
Procedure:
Soak the above items separately in 2 bowls for 4 hrs. Grind to a smooth paste and ferment overnight.
In the morning add salt to the batter. This dish is prepared in deep bottom wok. Add little oil in the wok, allow the mustard seeds to crackle, then pour a ladle full of batter and cook with the lid covered, flip around and fry the other side till it turns crisp. Enjoy with coconut chutney.
