Broken Wheat Upma

Broken wheat is an healthy diet food which is a good substitute for rice. It is less is calories and has good amount of fiber content.


Ingredients:
  1. Broken wheat- 2 Cups
  2. Onion- 1 Medium
  3. Tomato- 1 Small
  4. Capsicum- 1 Small
  5. Carrot- 2
  6. White Lentil (Urad dal)- 1/2 Tsp
  7. Mustard seeds- 1/2 Tsp
  8. Curry leaves- Few
  9. Oil
  10. Salt
  11. Chilli powder- 1 Tsp

Procedure:

Soak the Broken wheat in a bowl in Luke warm water for an hour(or can also pressure cook for one whistle)
In a wok add little oil, and allow the mustard's to crackle then add the urad dal fry till it turns light brown, and then add the curry leaves, add all the finely chopped vegetable fry on high flame till mushy/light brown.
To the above add the soaked broken wheat, salt, chilli powder and little little water then fry and cook continuously till all the mixture is coated evenly.
