Bread Rasmalai (Indian Bread Pudding)

Got inspired to try this recipe from few of the Konkani Amchi Food members. Must say this is an easy and yummy dessert. It is best eaten when chilled...


Ingredients:
  1. Bread
  2. Milk (Good life)- 1 Ltr
  3. Condensed milk(optional)
  4. Sugar- 1/2 glass
  5. Saffron /Kesar strands- few
  6. Cardamom-few
  7. Nuts (Badam, Pistachios, cashew nuts)

Procedure:

Cut the bread slices in desired shape. Shallow fry with little ghee/ butter.
Bring the milk to boil in medium to low flame, add the sugar, ground cardamon and saffron strands and continue to boil in low flame till the volume of the milk reduces by about half. Turn off and allow to cool down completely then refrigerate for around 1 to 2 hr.
In the serving bowl place the fried bread slice add the chilled rabdi / milk mixture sprinkle the nuts and enjoy the dessert.
